Delicious, attractive food is various but there is a dessert which can describe all the flavors and feelings to be specifically recommended on a rainy day: Gelato!
Having ice cream on a summer day has long become a norm. There’s something genuinely fun of putting on your pullover, stepping outside and enjoying a scoop of gelato on a rainy day while others curl on their bed and in their thick blanket. And to your surprise, you’re not alone at that gelateria downtown. There are no strangers but gelato lovers exchanging smiles and sharing their favourite flavour.
Gelato is a perfect treat for romantic souls. It is slightly different from common ice cream. Since the latter, like other American processed food, consists of fatty ingredients such as butter, milk, cream, etc. which give it an attractive look and rich color, the former provokes romantic notions of an Italian cold treat through fruity ingredients and creamy sweet taste, all makes us want to simply pick the flavour, sit by the window and watch the rain fall slowly while the smoke evaporating and caressing our senses.
Having gelato on a rainy day, I decide to let my hair down, laze blissfully on a comfy sofa, gazing at the fresh, creamy, aromatic and not-so-sweet scoop of ice cream. I used to think gelato and rainy days cannot be a great combination, however, the shivers sent to our spine seems nothing to compare with indescribable feeling of freshness and relief. Like a little kid, I am excited until the very last spoon, then order for more without hesitation. Despite the torrential rain outside, I sit here tapping feet along to the music, munching the cold treat and waiting for the frozen taste to travel its way down and seize your appetite. What a feeling! The one that you cannot find in the smoking hot pot or charred skewers.
Who says having gelato on a rainy day is silly and insane? Let them. The pleasure is mine to endeavor not only once. Have you tried such thing in your life? If not, feel free to
